Pictures from the Road

Today our truck driver and I headed out to Parshall to deliver a small piece of equipment to a new oil rig site. Parshall is the town that the new reality show "Boom Town" is being filmed in.  The show comes out later this month, kind of cool to be right in the mix.

On our journeys we took a few pictures and videos of the landscape, oil rigs, and not so fortunate semi drivers.

Here is an oil rig up close.

This is a picture of the drilling rig they use to drill down thousands of feet to the oil.  Once they reach the oil, the rig is then installed to what you saw above.

This poor guy must still be cleaning out his pants.  Must have been there at least a day.  The picture does not really show just how far down the ditch was...crazy!!

Here is an oil rig in action.

Here is the same oil rig...please forgive my stupidity with turning the camera the wrong direction, but you still get the point.

This is a video I was planning on taking to show the snow blowing over the road, then we came around the corner and came upon a truck that had just tipped over.  Unfortunately he was loaded, and was leaking crude oil all over the place.  Right place at the right time!

Not sure what I am going to do tomorrow, but I am sure I will find something to do.

  1. Wow, that's pretty crazy to see that truck jack knifed like that.

Very pretty landscape around the lake, it really makes me want to come out there and see it for myself.

  2. Lots of trucks on the road. Where do they truck to the oil to? Also appears to be quite flat around there. Bet the snow drifts get pretty big. SM

  3. Interesting! Parent point: 80 mph in the snow! LOL No caches yet? I see there are quite a few around there.
